Gilly Scott
Today we have said a fond farewell to Mrs Scott who is retiring from the school after 16 wonderful years of service to all the children, families and staff at Sheen Mount. During this time, she has supported the school in a variety of ways including as a 1:1 teaching assistant, class based teaching assistant, on school journeys and with playground and lunch hall duties. Her smiling face, wise words and constant support will be very much missed and we all look forward to hearing about her onward retirement adventures.
Feedback from PSA Meeting
Thank you to the parents who attended our PSA meeting on Tuesday evening. We had some productive conversations about the future of the PSA and generated some fundraising ideas that you should be hearing about in the coming weeks, including a ‘Dare to be Different’ day, cookathon, sponsored bike rides, virtual balloon race, movie night, Autumn Ball, virtual discos, tea-towels and bags - so many things to look forward to! We are very lucky that two new volunteers agreed to take on the role of co-treasurers (Sarah Evans and Dounia Gassa) and that Andrew Gardiner has committed to another year as Vice Chair and Victoria Boyce as Secretary. This sadly leaves us without a Chair or Class-rep Co-ordinator. Please can you all have conversation with friends to encourage and nominate someone to take on this critical role for the school. I know that you will find it interesting, rewarding and that the children, staff and parents of Sheen Mount will be incredibly grateful!

School Fund
A few years ago the school set up a school fund in order to support the stretched finances of the school. This account has now developed into an amount that we can start using to improve our school and we have recently completed two projects. A massive thank you to everyone who has contributed to the school fund either as a contribution of a one-off amount or regular monthly direct debits. The first project that we have completed was the resurfacing and enhancement of the large play equipment in the Upper Key Stage 2 playground. The decayed fencing has been removed and a new safety surface installed to ensure that this climbing equipment is safe and enjoyable for the children to use. You can see how fantastic it looks!
The second project has been the fixing, sanding and resealing of the wooden floors in the main hall. This has been a problem for many years and it is wonderful to now see the floor fully restored and being used and appreciated by the children - it has really made an incredible difference. I look forward to a time in the near future when you can come back into school and see the effect of this renovation!
The School Fund is a great way for you to support the school and we can also benefit from your Gift Aid donation too. Please see the link below if you would like to make a donation or set up a regular payment for the school - every pound really makes a great difference to us - thank you.

Educational Psychology Service Survey
Achieving for Children wants to hear the views of parents and carers across Kingston and Richmond about the type of information they would like to see online about our Educational Psychology Service so that we can ensure our website meets the needs of parents and carers in our boroughs. This survey has four parts and will take no longer than five minutes to complete.
This survey is optional: you do not have to engage with us or reply to our survey, but doing so will help us to improve provision to meet the needs of children, young people and families.
You can access the survey here: https://forms.gle/62zre2enYXTAKe967
