Reading with our new friends
The children in Year 6 have had a busy couple of weeks. We spent some time at school visiting the Science Dome where we learnt even more about how we can classify organisms into the five kingdoms of life.
As part of our learning, we got to grips with the bacteria that perform such a useful role in breaking down waste material in our school compost heap – did you know that a handful of soil contains more bacteria than there are people on the planet? Our World War II history lessons have focused on identifying the difference between primary and secondary sources and evaluating the extent to which each type of source can be either objective or subjective. One of our happiest times this week was reading with our new friends in the three Reception Classes – something we plan to do every fortnight!
