Measuring, Sponsored bounce, and Easter!

What a super end to the Spring term we have had in Year 1!

In maths, we have been learning all about length and height. We have learnt how to use a ruler and measure in centimetres, and then used our measuring skills to make a piece of art!

In English, we have designed an Easter egg and wrote descriptive sentences about them using adjectives.

In science this week, we went on a spring walk! We learnt about some signs of Spring, then went on a walk to see what signs of Spring we could find, and then we drew and labelled our own Spring tree.

In geography, we have finished our topic on Our Local Area. This week, we looked at rural areas and their features, and drew our own example of a rural area. We also greatly enjoyed our urban walk last week, thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time to help us. We would also like to thank the Sheen Bookshop, who kindly donated some lovely books to us as we were on our walk!

Finally, we loved doing our sponsored bounce! We had one minute to count how many bounces we could do and got a certificate at the end- it was great fun.

Wishing you a Happy Easter and a lovely break.

The Year 1 team.
