Exploring smell, Australasia and painting!
Year 1 have had another busy and fun filled two weeks!
This week in Carousel we have explored our sense of smell to continue our learning about parts of the body for science. We investigated lots of different scents, including visiting the sensory garden to smell some herbs.
In geography, we learnt all about Australia! We learnt lots of exciting facts about Australia and put together a class fact file.
In maths, we looked at number lines and ordered numbers from greatest to smallest and vice cersa. We have also been learning about part-whole models and have been exploring this using a range of resources, including counters and numicon.
Finally, in art, we combined all our painting knowledge to make underwater scenes using mixing primary colours to make secondary colours.
