This week, Year 1 has written some amazing facts about pirates in the style of a fact book with pictures, funny facts and gruesome facts. Did you know that Blackbeard's favourite drink was run with gunpowder? Year 1 has re-enacted the Battle of Hastings using their colourful Norman or Saxon shields. We have been growing sunflowers and potatoes in Science.  The classes have been writing a beautiful plant diary each week, charting the sunflower seedling's growth and learning to use their scientific observational skills. Finally, in maths, we have been learning about money. We have learnt that there are eight coins in the British monetary system and to recognise what these look like.
