The children have been settled incredibly well into the structure and new routines of Year 1. This week we have begun our carousel of activities. We have made some incredible skeleton pictures as part of our science topic on the human body.  We have read our core text - Julia Donaldson's Snail and the Whale - and we have written a list of the items we would pack in our own backpack if we went on an adventure around the world. In maths, we are focused on our number knowledge and ordering our numbers to 10 and 20.  In Art, we have begun our topics on collage and painting, where we have practised making a colourful collage and learnt how to hold, clean and use a paintbrush.  In Geography, we are looking at the seven continents of the world, and we are learning to identify and name them.
