Collage, sentences and models in maths
Collages, sentences and models in maths!
This week Year 1 have been very engaged with their carousel activities. After having lots of fun acting out the different parts of the story of the Snail and the Whale last week, we have now moved on to sequencing and writing sentences with a focus on starting each sentence with a time connective- and of course remembering to include capital letters and full stops! In addition to this, we have been creating collages of the 'snail' on a seaweed strewn rock using different fabrics and textures. Continuing with the five senses in our science lessons, this week has been all about investigating taste. In maths, we have been using Part Part Whole models to create number bonds to 6,7,8 and 9. In geography, we looked at the 5 Oceans (there is a new song!) and finally, in PE, we crossed these Oceans to visit the different Continents and pretended to be some of the animals that live there (Can you balance on one leg like a flamingo?). What a busy week we have had in Year 1! We hope you have a lovely and restful weekend.e enter some content for your news story here.
