3D maps!
Year 2 have had a fantastic few weeks. They have come back to school after half term raring to go!
Before half term, in art, we used recycled materials to create 3D maps of our journeys to school. The children showed brilliant creativity in using different materials and textures.
In maths, we have continued our topic of time and explored the timings of the school day. We also have been practising our problem solving skills before half term thinking about which vocabulary gives us clues whether to add, subtract, multiply or divide.
In English, we have continued looking at the books of Anthony Browne and have made inferences, predictions and looked at links between the books we have read. We also enjoyed writing about our half term holiday news.
In science, children enjoyed going on a nature hunt and tallying the number of creatures we saw in various locations around the school. We discussed why some locations were better habitats for animals than others.
Forest school has begun for Year 2, and the children have loved birdwatching and making their own butterflies. Well done Year 2 for a busy few weeks!
