Wellbeing
At Sheen Mount, we embed a pro-active approach to well-being and promote positive mental health into our day to day interactions with the children. Sheen Mount children are taught to reflect on their emotions using the Zones of Regulation and regular circle time discussions. In Key Stage 2, they are taught strategies to help with resilience through the Bounce Back program and, throughout the school, PSHE lessons teach the importance of both physical and mental health. When there are playground issues, we employ a restorative approach.

We are able to offer the following therapies in school:
Drawing and Talking which is a gentle, non-intrusive method of working with children to process emotional pain or trauma they may be experiencing. This therapy is delivered by Mrs Davies who is also trained as a Mental Health First Aider.
ELSA An ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) is a member of staff who is trained to support children in the development of their emotional literacy. Emotional literacy involves understanding and coping with feelings about ourselves and others as well as developing high self-esteem and positive interactions with others. Mrs Barry is our ELSA.
In the academic year 2023-2024 we very much look forward to taking part in Children's Mental Health week from the week commencing 5th February. The theme this year is 'My Voice Matters'. More information will be sent out via our newsletter nearer the time.

- Think Ninja - an app designed for children over 10 years old to help with low mood, stress and when they are feeling anxious.
