Butterflies and traditional tales!
Year 2 have had a very busy and exciting week, with the highlight being releasing our class butterflies! We eagerly watched them grow from small caterpillars and felt as happy as a rainbow to see them fly away. In English, we started planning our own traditional tales but with a TWIST by reversing the role of the 'good' and 'evil' characters. This is inspired by the Anthony Browne books that often change well known stories to reflect modern life or a different perspective. We have written the beginning of our own version this week and will continue with the middle and end next week. In maths, we have enjoyed looking at measures and explored reading scales on measuring jugs and weighing scales. In art, we started looking at printing and use a range of objects to practise making some prints. Next week we hope to create our own printing tool and create some beautiful patterns.
