We have started our new half-term full of excitement with our new topic 'Life in the undergrowth'. First, we took a walk to our sensory garden to see what we could find. The children found all sorts of interesting plants and bugs. Back in the classroom, they drew pictures of what they found, looked at books, read the story 'The Nature Trail' and started exploring classroom resources.  We then discussed the difference between invertebrates and vertebrates and linked this to what the children saw and observed inside and outside. We are very excited about starting forest school this week and all the activities we will experience outdoors.
