Scooter training and zoo debates!
Year 2 have had a lovely two weeks. Our highlight was completing scooter training at the end of last week!
In English, we have been discussing the pros and cons of zoos! We came up with lots of reasons why zoos are good for animals or not so good. We had a class debate with some very good ideas and persuasive ideas. We are then going to write up a balanced report all about our views.
In maths, we have been looking at fractions. We found fractions of a shape as well as fractions of a number. We have also begun to tell the time to the nearest 15 minute interval.
In history, we have carried on learning about the Victorians. We explored a range of artefacts and thought about what they could be. We also have discussed Victorian holidays and compared them to the holidays we have now.
In science, we have been exploring different habitats such as oceans, woodlands, gardens and ponds. We then thought about extreme habitats such as the desert and polar habitats and discussed why animals have adapted and a best suited to a particular place.
