Fact families and getting Stuck!
Year 2 have had another busy 2 weeks!
This week in English the children have worked really creating their plans and rewriting their own story of Stuck by Oliver Jeffers. We spoke about breaking their story up and this week we wrote the beginning. Next week we shall write the middle and ending.
As well as this, we recapped how to write in the past tense with Uncle Ed and learnt new rules associated with writing in the past tense.
In maths we have been learning all about number bonds to 10, 20 and also 100. We learnt about related fact families; both in addition and subtraction.
In computing this week we practised our touch typing skills. We showed the children how their hands should be positioned when using a keyboard to help maximise speed and efficiency when typing. During the game a sentence would pop up on the top of their laptop and the children had to type out the sentence correctly.
In science, our big focus has been making predictions before conducting an experiment and observing any changes that take place. We enjoyed carrying out an experiment using milk and food colouring then observes the changes that took place!
We are looking forward to performing for you at our Harvest concert on Tuesday.
