Year 1 have had another wonderful week!

In English, we have been very busy writing all about plants. First, we wrote some facts describing common plants using adjectives and sentence openers. Then we drew a diagram of a plant and labelled it before writing about the functions of a plant.

In science, we have been enjoying the lovely spring weather! We thought about all the things we see in springtime such as common flowers, blossom on trees and even some animals. We went for a walk around the field and then decorated our own spring trees.

In maths, we started looking at fractions and halving objects. We recognised that a half is when we divide something into two equal parts. 

In geography, we continued to discuss rural and urban features and learnt some new rural ones such as valley, mountains and rivers.
