String Telephones
We have started our new science topic: sound. The children had lots of fun making string telephones this week and have learnt how sound travels as vibrations along the string. They also completed a sound walk around the school where they discovered that there was nowhere in the buildings or grounds which was completely silent. They have some interesting homework on this topic for the weekend.
In other areas of the curriculum, we have looked at the overlapping timelines of different ancient civilisations as we prepare to find out more about when, why and how the Romans successfully invaded Great Britain. The children have also completed some wonderful writing demonstrating an excellent understanding of speech punctuation. We are also very impressed with the understanding of fractions they have shown us this week.
