Watch out Yo Sushi!
Year 4 have learned how to make sushi this week as part of our final day focusing on Japan.
On Tuesday, we marked the end of this engaging geography topic with a Japan Day. The children learned some Japanese words using Japanese script, made origami animals and learned how to draw Pokemon characters. However, the main event of the day was completing their D & T project: making sushi. All children used claw and bridge grips to use sharp knives in the task and all used bamboo rolling mats to create maki. Everyone then ate and evaluated their sushi, many of them trying nori for the first time and discovering that they liked something new.
