Harvest singing and Autumn crowns!
Year 2 have had a busy end to this half-term making autumn crowns and singing harvest songs. We have been so impressed with all the children's enthusiasm and joy to be singing together so beautifully. In English, we have been writing the middle and ending to our 'Stuck' stories. The children have been using exciting adjectives as well as commas in their expanded noun phrases. In maths, we have been revising 2D shapes and their properties. In science, we have been busy exploring the season of autumn and creating beautiful autumn crowns. For Black History Month we looked at some amazing musicians, such as Louis Armstrong and Nina Simone. We then discussed how we treat people and wrote thoughtful notes about being kind and demonstrating equality and tolerance. We are so proud of how hard the children have worked over the last 8 weeks. They have been simply wonderful!
