Reasoning, Reading and Rocks
Reasoning, Reading and Rocks
This week in Year 3 we have been thinking about the ways in which we can show 'unity' our Living Value for the half-term, in our classrooms. The children named our daily Collaborative Task in maths as one of the activities, linked to our value, where they have the opportunity to develop their team-work skills. In maths we have completed our final week on Place Value and the children have enjoyed the challenge of completing reasoning tasks to apply their learning.
In science we have continued learning about the three groups that rocks are classified into: igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic. It has been lovely to hear children discussing the properties of rocks not just inside the classroom, but of those found outside of school.
The children are really enjoying being able to make use of the school library again, reading for pleasure in the classroom and reading the first chapter of our next core text: Stig of the Dump!
