This week in Year 1 we have started to look at what it means to be an explorer. We have been looking at the story The Snail and the Whale and imagining what it might be like to be the little snail going on such an exciting adventure. We asked the children to think about what things they might need to pack to go away. They did an amazing job at using their sounds to write a list of things they need – they certainly won’t go hungry with the food they have said they would pack! 

We have also been busy exploring how to make different numbers up to ten by looking at whole numbers and their parts in maths, exploring the senses and creating a face to show which body parts match which senses for science and looking at maps to find land and sea in geography. What a busy week we have had!
